What kind of art do you like?

Do you own any original works of art? I love Mary Cassatt. But of course can't afford that.

I love most all art.
Do you mean to do or to look at and enjoy?
I own my original art and the art work of my sister and my brother.
I do high fire clay, watercolor and quilling. Right now I'm trying to make a dress out of wire window screen. Not sure how far I'll get on this. Never tried it before.
I enjoy the art of college students too. Some VERY talented kids are out there.

I'm a fan of all art that is an expression of reality. I have no time for abstract, colour field, new realism etc. Painting a canvas red or filling a skip full of popcorn is not art IMO.

I like all kinds of art - oils, acrylic, watercolour paintings; pottery, china painting; drawings of any media and sculpture but not great big daubs of paint splashed on a canvas.

I love colour. I like landscapes, seascapes and still life. I like primitive art and Renaissance paintings - pretty broad...

My favorite painting is Starry Night by Van Gogh. I really love some of our local artists who paint various local landscapes and architecture. I own a couple of originals by local artists, but most of the artwork in my home was created by my daughter. I started framing her paintings when she was just a toddler. She's become quite talented over the years, but my favorites are still the bright and colorful ones that she did as a child. My favorite period was her "color patch" period. Every picture is a patchwork of bright colors. There's one of her dad, a very conservative dresser, dressed in a shirt and bermuda shorts. The entire outfit is painted in splotches of bright colors. It makes me happy just looking at it.
