French impressionist and photographer
His subjects were reality, domestic or family scenes and landscapes. His style was similar to what we call cropping now and using zoom effects as to blend in his fondness of photography with the art of painting. He was also a master at using different colors of shade to create realistic shades and sunlight, sort of like Thomas Kinkade of the late 1800's.By the way, the second link is The Orange Trees. I believe this is by a river where he learned the art of painting.
