Acrylic paints made their debut on the marketplace in 1955. The paint possess similar texture and appearance of oil paints, but is a water-based paint medium, non-toxic and easy to clean up. Paints kept in a covered palate can stay pliable for several days. Acrylic paint dries quickly, but will stay moist with an occasional spritz of water. Be adventurous with acrylics and experiment on different backgrounds and with different mediums.
