A great way to have original and unique martini (or wine) glasses is to paint them. The possibilities are limitless. You can create themed glasses for an occasion, to match your dishes or china, or to give as an unusual gift.

1
Wipe the outside surface of the martini glass(es) with a paper towel dipped in alcohol and let it air dry. The alcohol removes any residue that might keep the paint from sticking to the surface properly.

Select what you paint on the glasses. You can paint freehand or use a pattern. To use a pattern, tape it to the inside of the glass with the drawing or pattern facing the outside of the glass. Then just paint the outside of the glass exactly as the pattern shows.

    3
Place the painted glass(es) in a cold oven and heat to the desired temperature (this does vary by paint, so check the label) and bake for the required time. Turn off the oven and let the glass cool completely. Using bake-on paint makes the paint much more durable and allows it to withstand repeated washings in the dishwasher, as well as use in the microwave.
